Hey all! I’m Coach Alyssa. I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 4 years now, 3 of which I have been coaching. As a former college athlete, CrossFit gave me the competitive atmosphere that I longed for after graduation, while also showing me what it’s like to be surrounded by a community like no other. The CrossFit methodology has allowed me to achieve health and fitness goals that I never thought I would achieve after my athletic career ended. After taking a break from CrossFit and coaching after starting my second year of dental hygiene school just last year, I quickly realized those goals were not as easily attainable without the structure and accountability that it provided for me. I became a member at CrossFit Swarm in December 2023, and knew immediately I wanted to coach again. Now, as a busy mom, wife, and student, CrossFit Swarm gives me the opportunity to focus on my own health and fitness goals while helping others to achieve theirs as well!
Favorite WOD, movement, or lift:
Anything with a heavy barbell, rowing, or wallballs!
Favorite WOD time:
Any of the afternoon classes – I am not a morning workout girl, although that’s typically where you’ll find me coaching.
Favorite Food:
I have never been able to answer this question – I don’t have a favorite!
Favorite Music/Band:
Country Music all day every day (even during workouts…)
Pets:
One dog – he’s a pitbull named Guinness. He’s a big baby and cries more than my two-year-old.
Fun Facts:
I still participate in local basketball and volleyball leagues throughout the year. Sports will always be a huge part of my life!
Favorite thing about Swarm:
The people! I love the tight-knit community and the “everyone knows everyone” feeling.
